Sri Bhaini Sahib the hub of Namdhari activities since 1857 was almost converted into jail to curb the movement of Kuka Sikhs and was placed under strict vigilance by the Britishers. Satguru Jagjit Singh was born like a divine light in jail at Sri Bhaini Sahib on 20.11.1920. And the restrictions were relaxed thereafter.

Satguru Partap Singh Ji departed from this world on 22 August 1959 at 12.30 AM and was cremated in the evening leaving every body's eyes wet and hearts wailing. Before the cremation elder Baba Ji, Baba Jagjit Singh was requested to adorn the seat of temporal authority as Satguru Jagjit Singh, as per the wishes of late Satguru Ji to provide spiritual enlightenment to the panth.

Ceremonial Dastarbandi of Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji took place on 10 September 1959 at Sri Bhaini Sahib after the concluding function in memory of Satguru Partap Singh Ji. Ceremonial Dastars (turbans) were presented to Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji by large number of religious, political and social leaders. Hundreds of thousands gathered on the occasion and paid their respect.

Satguru Ji wants to see mankind free from man made slaveries. These include slavery from crime and violence, from drug and drunkeness, from pollution, from religious terrorism, from egoism and from all other ills to make man kind full of virtues.

The main anchor-sheets of India's freedom struggle and reformation under Gandhi Ji and Pandit Jawahar Lai Nehru were grasped from the concept of freedom and self reliance established by the ancestors of Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji.

The spiritual greatness has turned him into a spiritual light house of energy and bliss. Truth, Simplicity , Faith, Purity, Music, Self discipline, Non-Violence and Peace. Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji has no place for anger in his life , nor for tension or prejudice. No gender bias, no love for racial discrimination and no lust for power. He has attained simplicity, the immense power of love, the great force of truth and consideration for all creations of God.

On 12 September 1959 Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji, for the first time rode in his car with white triangular flag flying on it and visited all the historical places of religious importance including Akal Bunga in Sri Bhaini Sahib and started his journeys after performing supplicatory prayer i.e. Ardas.
